Happy New Year, loyal Listener! We thought we drop this special episode a little before New Years Eve so you’d could squeeze the last bit of Spitz into your ears for 2012. And what a squeezing it is. Graham, Lars, and James do some bits on sultry late-night radio DJs, facial robbery, and dramatic readings of high school original plays. Also- the quandary of a “Quantum Lincoln” and the gang discovers they all gamble with their families on the holidays. Happy New Years from your family here at the Cherry Spitz Podcast.
Two Shows This Week
This week James and Lars welcome the multi-talented Brother Daniel (Ghostlight Improv, Puppet Mayhem, The Black Sheep) to sit in and have a lively chat. Among today’s show topics are: Brother Daniel’s big gig at South Coast Repertory, Lars’ discovery of something called “Witches Law”, and the gang’s take on Tim Burton’s body of work. Plus, we finally hear how James ended a long friendship over a Facebook argument on Howard the Duck.
On this episode, Catbus Studios hijinks ensue as Matt, James and Lars recount some of their recent comedic experiences. The gang starts out by sharing a few stand-up and live show stories and then devolves into enduring a gauntlet of Matt’s “cool stories”. Plus, Lars tries out recumbent podcasting to great success, Matt gives a maniac five minutes of his time, and James threatens to throw comedic pipebombs at everyone.
Thank you, dear listeners, for tuning in to yet another episode of the award-eligible Cherry Spitz Podcast.
Kat, James, and Lars converge at Catbus Studios to talk about how their jet-setting, whirlwind Summers ended. Special guest, Rob Ferreras of Ghostlight Improv sits in to offer his two cents but mainly just to absorb punishment from the Spitz. James shares a tale of courtroom occultism as he bears witness to a woman warding off the devil in a judicial building. Lars recounts his recent adventures at Burning Man and his sighting of the mythical Trash-squatch. Kat reveals to the gang that her coffee shop is secretly trying to kill people with gluten.
Matt, James and Shaun sit down at Self Indulgent Studios today. Matt had an interesting exchange with a lady of the night in Vegas. Shauns still annoyed and grossed out by his co-workers. James brings some fast food topics he wants to discuss and to wrap up the show, the guys do some Improv Cup trash talking.
Hellz yeah! It’s the most magical time of the year once again! This week, a seemingly endless parade of murder-clowns, mud people, and morlocks will converge on pastoral Cave In Rock, Illinois for the 13th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos. Every year, the Cherry Spitz runs down the line-up and events featured in their top-notch produced infomercial. Like bystanders watching a train full of hobos crash into a septic truck, Lars James, Kat and Shaun attempt to comprehend this festival of love and understanding- and shit flinging.
Hey Dear Listener. It’s been a rough week, so Matt and Lars get kind of real on this episode. We break down some of the crappy events happening in the news and we get, well, serious. But don’t worry, we do still manage to be pretty stupid in the process. Tell us what you think on our Facebook page and get in on the conversation. Apologies to the Todd Glass show for blatantly ripping off his intro.
Marlene returns to Cat Bus Studios for her 3rd pod-date with James and Lars. Aw yeah, it’s ‘ serious up all up in your ear canal in this one. Also, foodie reviews on Chinese snacks and a big bombshell dropped all over James regarding his past with Marlene. Come get some.
